Advice to Someone Just Starting Showing Lambs: Winning isn’t everything, it’s more important to have fun!
How did it feel to win two of the biggest lamb shows in the same year?
Sam: Words can’t describe it, it’s a feeling you can’t replace.
Alex: It was Amazing – I don’t think we’ll be able to ever do that well again!
After Kansas City, what were your thoughts coming into Louisville?
Sam: Just go have fun, what happens, happens.
Alex: We knew we probably weren’t going to do as well, but we were still going to have fun.
Is there any sibling rivalry between the two of you?
Sam: There’s rivalry no matter who you show against, everyone wants to do well in the show ring.
Alex: There always is – We always want to do better than the other!
How do you decide who gets to show which sheep?
It comes down to whoever can show the sheep better.
Do you have any superstitions or routines prior to a show?
Of course! We always wear the same shirt, same hairstyle, and same makeup.
What is your favorite lamb you have ever shown?
Sam: Golden, my Skidgel sheep that I showed this summer. He had the best attitude in the barn and won almost everywhere he went.
Alex: Nabby, my Champion Shrop lamb at Indiana State Fair this year from Bell & Leonhard. He was the easiest sheep for me to show and I had him since he was a baby.
