You’re done shearing and feeding lambs, the troops are gathered up, and you’re ready to go back to the hotel and realize you have no idea where to grab a bite to eat. Or maybe you are wanting to head out for a little night life and don't have a clue where to look. Through showing livestock, many of us are fortunate to have the opportunity to travel across the country for shows, sales, judging, or just to look at stock. We often forget or just don’t have time to plan for this part of the trip. Everybody loves to discover that great restaurant or take in some of the local sights & scenes in the down time. We hope our latest feature “DESTINATION” gives you a brief overview of what to do once the sheep work is done for the day.
This week, our feature show is American Royal in Kansas City, MO. American Royal lamb show is this Saturday, October 23rd and is held at the Historic River Bottoms District just minutes from Downtown Kansas City. In addition to the numerous livestock shows this upcoming weekend, the American Royal presents a PRCA ProRodeo and two concerts in Kemper Arena (pictured above) – Little Texas (Friday) and Craig Morgan (Saturday).
Perhaps the best part of Kansas City is The Power & Light District (pictured below), which is located Downtown Kansas City, a few minutes from the American Royal. With more than 50 unique and captivating shops, restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues, the district offers something for everyone and is the premier entertainment epitcenter.
Aside from The Power & Light District, there’s no shortage of nightlife for all ages in Kansas City. Kansas City is the home to many Haunted Houses this time of year, each of which offers thrills and scares for all who dare to enter.
A few other attractions in Kansas City that may be worth a stop include: Worlds of Fun, KC Zoo and also the numerous casinos scattered throughout the city.
Enjoy your trip to Kansas City and be sure to check back often for our next Destination!
