Clayton Anthony Shuck, 4, of Geneva, entered into eternal life on December 29, 2010. He was sealed as God’s own through Holy Baptism on February 18, 2007. He is cured of cancer after a relentless battle of 20 months.
He was born on November 14, 2006 to his loving parents. He is the oldest son of Jason A. and Theresa L. (Smith) Shuck.
Clayton attended St. George’s Episcopal Church. He loved life, being a farm boy, 4-H fairs, all animals, showing his sheep Snowflake, being a big brother, and his family and friends. He had a huge smile.
He is survived by his parents Jason A. & Theresa L. Shuck of Geneva, IN; a brother Jasper J. Shuck at home, Paternal Grandparents Jerry Shuck of Tipton, IN and Darlene Shuck of Anderson, IN; Maternal Grandparents Larry & Madge Smith of Berne, IN; Maternal Great Grandparents James E. & Norma Smith of Bluffton, IN and Jean Marshal of South Bend, IN; Paternal Great Grandparents Reba Shuck of Kokomo, IN and Harold Merrell of Kempton, IN; Aunts Jenny (Bill) McIntire of Losantville, IN, Emilee (Elmer) Schwartz of Lima, OH, Valerie Smith of Berne, IN; Uncles Travis (Melissa) Shuck of Tipton, IN, Dustin (Killey) Shuck of Kempton, IN and nine cousins. He also leaves behind numerous doctors, nurses, and caregivers who enriched his life and continue to fight tirelessly to save the lives of children with cancer. He was preceded in death by cousins Brayden Schwartz and Jessica Merrel; maternal great grandfather Donald Marshall, paternal great grandmother Mary Merrell and paternal great grandfather Glen Shuck.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 1 – 5 p.m. at Haggard and Sefton Funeral Home in Decatur, IN with calling one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Monday, January 3, 2011 at Trinity Episcopal Church – 611 West Berry St. – Fort Wayne, IN. The Rt. Rev. Edward S. Little II will be officiating and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Bluffton, IN. Friends, family and children are welcome to the celebration of his life.
